Pamela Bancroft OBITUARY

Pamela (Pam) Bancroft, 79, of Monte Sereno, California, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 25, 1946 to Mary Jane and John Daniel Bender in Massachusetts. She spent her early years in Kansas and moved to Lenox, Massachusetts, with her family when she was in junior high. It was in Lenox where she met Edward (Ted) Bancroft and they married in 1968. They were together 56 years and enjoyed several moves including Binghamton, New York; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Hayward, California; Taipei, Taiwan; and almost 40 years in Monte Sereno, California.

Pam was very active in the community including as a city council member and subsequently mayor of Monte Sereno, a member and a deacon of the Presbyterian Church of Los Gatos, a director and subsequently a board member at the Terraces of Los Gatos, and an avid tennis player.

She is survived by her husband, Ted Bancroft; two children, Royce (Ray) Scherzer and Ed (Meghan) Bancroft; two sisters, Barcley (Bill) Clayton and Sue (John) Ahn; and three grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Daniel and Mary Jane Bender.

Services will be December 13, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Los Gatos. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Presbyterian Church of Los Gatos or the Terraces of Los Gatos Foundation (to donate to the Terraces of Los Gatos, please make the amount payable to “HumanGood Foundation West” and in the memo, include “TLG Benevolence Fund”).
