Raquel Saenz Leaños OBITUARY

Raquel Saenz Leaños passed away in San Jose, California on November 20, 2025, at age 96. She was born on December 15, 1928 in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico.

Raquel was beloved for her ability to easily make and keep life-long friends. She enjoyed celebrating countless birthdays, vacations, and holidays with her children and their families. Raquel had a special fondness for her pet dogs (favorites being Buki and Chica), various pet cats, and all hummingbirds.

She is lovingly remembered by her children; Elvira Leaños-Jung (Merrill), Hector Leaños, Raul Leaños (Yolanda), Eva Perez (Ray), Leticia Crouzet-Pascal (Dan), Lillian Ghormley (Tim), and Jaime Leaños (Florysel). Raquel was an amazing grandmother to twenty-three grandchildren and a very proud great-grandmother to twenty-two. She was an adored aunt to several nieces and nephews. Her memory will be cherished by her sister Consuelo until they meet again.

Raquel was preceded in death by her devoted husband Antonio Pinedo Leaños, her parents Samuel Saenz and Delfina (Trujillo) Saenz, and her sisters Eva and Graciela.

A Memorial Service will be held for Raquel at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow St, San Jose, on Monday, December 15, 2025 starting at 1:00 PM. She will be laid to rest following the service at Oak Hill Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Ave., San Jose, at 2:45 PM.
