Patricia Enfantino Toschi OBITUARY
Patricia Enfantino Toschi, 89 years old, passed away on November 26, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was born in San Jose and attended Notre Dame High School. In 1955, she married her high school sweetheart, Gene Enfantino, whom she met while cutting apricots at a local orchard. They were married for 38 years until Gene passed away in 1993.
Together they raised 5 children while Patricia spent the early part of their marriage working summers in the cannery. She went back to school in the early 1970s where she received a Bachelors of Nursing degree from San Jose State and worked in the surgery clinic at both Stanford and Kaiser for 20 years.
Patricia was active as both a Master Gardener and a docent for the De Saisset Museum giving mission tours to school children. At the age of 69, Patricia found love again and married Elio Toschi. They celebrated their 20 year anniversary in September with a dinner at Forbes Mill where all their children were in attendance. Patricia loved to travel, to grow vegetables in her garden and to read. She was an active member of two bookclubs which helped keep many of her lifelong friendships alive.
Patricia’s greatest joy was being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She took special joy teaching them about growing peppers and tomatoes in her garden. She cherished time with them at her beach house in La Selva which she and Gene built 35 years ago.
Patricia was preceded in death by her first husband, Gene Enfantino and her grandson Alexander Enfantino. She is survived by her husband Elio Toschi, her five children Karen Bates (Dave), Kathy Stapp (Dan), Chris Enfantino (Lisa), Gene Enfantino (Tracey), and Phil Enfantino (Anna). She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. Her family will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
A memorial mass and reception will be held at 11:00 on January 16, 2026 at Saint Martin’s Church in San Jose. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name to Second Harvest Food Bank of Silicon Valley are appreciated.
