Tony Roy Sumner passed away on December 10, 2025, due to Lewy body dementia. He was born on January 2, 1946, in San Francisco, California, where he also spent much of his early life. He had four siblings: Wanda, Ronnie, Richie, and Ivy.
Tony worked as a busboy at San Francisco Airport, where he met the love of his life, Gladys Irene Ogan. Together they built a life and raised two children, Tiffany Pereira and Kim Mentzer, in San Jose, California.
Tony dedicated 42 years of service to P.W. Supermarkets, beginning his career as a cashier and remaining with the company until his retirement. He enjoyed thrift shopping and cherished time spent with his grandchildren. Known for his charm and playful personality, Tony was a natural jokester and always brought laughter to those around him.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Gladys Irene Ogan, and his brother, Richie.
Tony is survived by his daughters, Kim (Tony) Mentzer and Tiffany Pereira; his three grandchildren, Cari, Tony, and Josh; and his three great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 28, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
