Marji Dorothy Showalter OBITUARY

Marji Dorothy Showalter passed peacefully December 18, 2024 in San Jose after 83 years of adventure. Born March 17, 1941 in Maywood, CA; preceded in death by her father, Albert Charles Weitz, her mother, Laura Leffler Nelson, her beloved brother Albert Charles Weitz Jr, and her second son, Aaron Andrew Showalter; survived by her sons Mark Allen Showalter (Josephine Heminway) and Damion Charles Showalter, her grandchildren Spencer Lee Showalter (Oliver Konkel) and Samuel Heminway Showalter, and former spouse James Vaden Showalter. Her sister-in-law Katie Weitz and cousin-in-law Marilyn Leffler will also miss her. Marji loved to travel, often visiting her brother at the many places he worked across the globe. Marji most fondly recalled her time living on the Big Island of Hawaii. She was devoted to her children, and a tireless advocate for the rights of disabled persons. Marji will always be remembered for her laughter, sharp sense of humor, and incredible resilience. Honoring her request, Marji will be cremated and her ashes scattered at sea.
